The other form has charcoal as well that kills bacteria working along with the carbon. Carbon and charcoal filters help remove chlorine, inorganic, and organic contaminants. They are very easy to install and you don’t need a plumber to do the work. Such filters have a downside too. They do not remove fluoride which is potentially hazardous to health.
Most of them have aluminum that can affect the water taste. They can also become a breeding ground for bacteria. Furthermore, they cannot change the water chemistry. If the pH value of the water is high and it is acidic, it will remain so even after passing through the filter. Plus, carbon filters can also get could if left unused.
There are ceramic water filters in the market as well. They come in the form of a cartridge that fits in a normal filter. Some ceramic filters have Diatomaceous Earth, a fossil substance comprised of tiny silicon shells placed inside the cartridge while others have nano-silver in a porous ceramic outer shell that can trap bacteria. If the flow rate of the ceramic filter lessens over a period of time, it can be improved by brushing its outer surface under running water.
When it is cleaned of contaminants, a new top layer becomes available.
Another kind of filter employs the reverse osmosis process to clean the water. This system purifies water by passing it through an extremely fine membrane. This membrane filters off all impurities. In order to clean water through this process a lot of pressure is required but it works. Read the rest of this entry »

Kitchen is my favorite part of the house. Why? the answer is obvious because this place is the reason why I get big. I love to eat that’s why everytime that I’m in the house I used to go to the kitchen 5 to 10 times a day. This is the reason why I make sure that everything in our kitchen is in order and clean. So, in order to maintain the cleanliness and its look I renovated it last month for me to decide the best design for it.
We put high quality countertops that we ordered at this website called livingstonesurfaces.com that was highly recommended by my architect and engineer friends where I found different styles and colors of countertops. I was convinced with their prices so I ordered to them what we needed for our kitchen. I choose the color white so that I can clearly see if there are dirts on it. And I think white is the best color for kitchens. So, right now I am much satisfied with it and maybe recommend it also to my friends who are planning to renovate their kitchens or even their houses.
